The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS):
Identifies, surveys and analyses the built environment of Scotland
Preserves, cares for and adds to the information and the items in its national collection
Promotes public understanding and enjoyment through interpretation of the information it collects and the items it looks after.
RCAHMS is open to the public (9.30-16.30 Monday to Friday) at the address below, and maintains an online database, Canmore, which can be consulted on the website.
