Dullatur

Two Roman temporary camps were located at Dullatur about 400m south of the Antonine Wall, between the forts at Croy Hill and Westerwood.

Both camps have now been built over, and no visible remains can be seen on the ground today. The first camp covered a large area, over 9 acres and was probably used to accommodate workers building the Antonine Wall. The second camp seems to have been built within the area of the first camp fairly soon after the first camp went out of use and re-used some of its defences.

The site of the camps now lies beneath the modern housing around Antonine Road in Dullatur.
