Garnhall

At Garnhall, Cumbernauld, to the west of Castlecary, lies the site of two Roman temporary camps, a circular enclosure and possible watch-tower of uncertain date.

No traces of the camps or the enclosure are visible today, but this is the start of an attractive walk along one of the longest continuous stretches of the Antonine Wall that can be seen today.

The walk can be accessed from behind the Castlecary House Hotel, east of Castlecary village on the B816. A kissing gate gives access into the field.
