Antonine Wall Community Conference

To mark the 10th anniversary of the inscription of the Antonine Wall as a World Heritage Site, and to celebrate the ongoing involvement of communities along the Wall, the Antoine Wall Steering Group will be hosting a community conference on Saturday 29th September at the Glenskirlie House and Castle, Banknock, Falkirk. In the morning, a range of both academic and community speakers will discuss projects along the Antonine Wall, its history and archaeology. In the afternoon, there will be optional guided trips with experts to see sites on the Wall (with transport provided if required) or further workshop sessions at Glenskirlie. Lunch and refreshments are provided and the event is free to attend.

The conference is part funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund through the Rediscovering the Antonine Wall project, led by West Dunbartonshire Council and funded by West Dunbartonshire, Glasgow City, East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire and Falkirk Councils and Historic Environment Scotland.
