Altar, Castlehill
A sandstone altar, found at Castlehill, to the east of the fort, where it may have been deliberately buried. It is 104 cm high by 40 cm wide. The inscription reads: CAMPESTRIBVS ET BRITANNI Q PISENTIVS IVSTVS PR(A)EF COH IIII GAL V S L L M which translates as "To the Goddesses of the Parade-ground and Britannia, Quintus Pisentius Justus, prefect of the Fourth Cohort of Gauls, gladly, willingly, and deservedly fulfilled his vow."
