Samian ware platter, Balmuildy
A samian ware platter (form 18/31), approximately 18cm diameter across top, 9cm diameter at base. 2 rimsherds only; one sherd also includes base and is used for reconstruction, indicating the diameters. Found at Balmuildy farm, Cadder, Scotland, in the vicinity of the Roman fort. Believed to have been made in the mid 2nd century AD, possibly in France. Associated with the Roman occupation of the Antonine Wall from AD142-180.
